Renewable energies have already transformed the world. With increasingly complex transactions and groundbreaking technological advancements, the sector offers unparalleled opportunities alongside very distinct challenges. Understanding the pivotal role of “RE” operations from the client’s perspective is crucial for building an efficient arbitration strategy.
To address this, we have crafted this event to offer a unique perspective and shed light on renewable energy arbitration through the client’s eyes. We have assembled an exceptional panel of cross-disciplinary experts from the renewable energy sector, in-house lawyers from active companies within the industry, as well as quantum experts.
Together and with the collaboration of our audience, we will unravel the latest trends, legal frameworks, and practical case studies related to arbitration in renewable energy projects.
Spotlighting the example of Romania – with the CEE region at the forefront of renewable energy activity – our event will feature an active dialogue between :
- Alina DUMITRASCU, Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs, PPC Romania and Delegate, ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, in charge of the transaction between ENEL and PPC (where she now acts as General Counsel) concerning ENEL’s assets in Romania,
- Jurriaan KIEN, Legal Director New Energies at SBM Offshore and Chief Legal Officer at Ekwil,
- , former ICC Court Member, lawyer and arbitrator, who has represented ENEL in various Romanian disputes,
- Stéphane WOERTHER, Managing Director at FTI Consulting, and Head of Energy Project Finance and Climate Finance, and
- Nicolas MOCQ, Senior Director at FTI Consulting and expert in valuation and quantification of damages.
This event will open with an insightful overview of the renewable energy market from one of our client’s perspective, followed by an exploration of recent trends and legal considerations drawn from the sector’s evolving contract landscape. Our discussions will highlight the unique aspects of these contracts and the potential disputes they may engender in the future. Finally, our experts from FTI Consulting will delve into the complexities of damage valuation in these disputes.
