The “Architects of Arbitration: Round Table Discussion with Arbitral Institutions” brings together leading arbitral institutions for a candid and forward-looking exchange on their role in shaping the present and future of international arbitration. Taking place during Paris Arbitration Week, this panel will offer a rare opportunity to hear directly from the institutions themselves on how they design procedures, respond to user expectations, and adapt to an evolving dispute-resolution landscape.

Yasin EKMEN serves as the Secretary General of the Istanbul Arbitration Center. He completed his LLB studies in Marmara University, Faculty of Law and his post-graduate studies in International Trade and International Arbitration at the Faculty of Law, University of Cardiff in 2001. He is currently a PhD candidate in the department of International Private Law at Ankara University, Faculty of Law. \r\n

Yasin, on returning to Turkey in October 2009, began working for the Union Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), as a legal advisor. During his term at TOBB, he also acted as the Secretary General of the TOBB Arbitration Court. He played an active role in the preparation of the Law on Istanbul Arbitration Center, and the establishment of the Istanbul Arbitration Center. While working at TOBB, he was also a member of the Arbitration Working Group of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Turkey. \r\n

He further played an active role in the establishment of the Jerusalem Arbitration Centre, of which the President of TOBB, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, is the international Chairman. \r\n

+post_content : "The Baku Arbitration Centre (BAC) is an arbitration institution based in Azerbaijan, created to promote arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. It administers both domestic and international commercial arbitration proceedings in accordance with modern rules that reflect international best practices. The Centre was inaugurated in 2025. It emphasizes party autonomy, allowing disputing parties to choose their arbitrators, the language of the proceedings, and the applicable law. BAC seeks to offer a neutral, efficient, and cost-effective forum for resolving commercial disputes. In addition to case administration, the Centre plays an active role in developing arbitration culture through training programs, conferences, and publications. Its work is particularly significant for disputes connected to the Caucasus and Caspian regions, contributing to Azerbaijan’s ambition to establish itself as a regional hub for arbitration. "
