Finding the perfect expert in international arbitration can be like finding a needle in a haystack or, as the expression goes, a “five-legged sheep.” To paraphrase Jean-Paul Sartre, as unlikely as it seems, such sheep do exist.

We have assembled a panel of diverse backgrounds – including advocates, arbitrators, experts, and inhouse counsel – to discuss the process of choosing an expert in arbitration proceedings. The panel will discuss when to resort to hiring expert witnesses, the qualities that a good expert possesses, and considerations to be borne in mind when selecting experts, among other related topics. Those attending will leave with clear guidance about how to find their own “five-legged sheep” to help win their cases.
