Presentation
Fladgate in collaboration with unyer (Fidal, Luther, Pirola and KWR) will host this session which will focus on strategies for investor companies to protect their investments from political risk and expropriation.
It will cover structuring investments to benefit from Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs), ensuring secure and accessible documentation, and conducting regular asset valuations.
The session will also address the commercial pressures investors face, using case studies to explore the balance between the risks and benefits of BIT claims versus political risk insurance, and how potential frictions between the two can be managed.
Our speakers will also examine the current political climate and the importance of incorporating international law.
The goal is to provide practical advice for navigating politically volatile environments and making informed decisions so as to maximise all available recoveries.
