Andrew SARRAF

Andrew Sarraf is an Australian qualified senior associate at Mayer Brown's London office.

Clients turn to him for his experience in acting for owners and contractors on construction, engineering, infrastructure and energy projects globally. Andrew has advocated for and represented clients in a wide range of high value and profile matters arising out of major projects in the Middle East, the USA, the UK, Asia and Australia. He conducts arbitrations in both English and Arabic.

Andrew’s practice focuses on international arbitration and he has acted for parties in disputes under the ICC, LCIA, DIAC, AAA, SCCA and ad hoc rules. He has also handled matters in the English High Court including the Commercial Court and TCC and the Australian High Court, Federal Court and the Supreme Courts of Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Andrew is a skilled advocate who has appeared unled before arbitral tribunals and the Courts. He has been opposed to experienced senior and junior counsel and has led complicated and long hearings, including cross-examining various witnesses and experts.

Andrew frequently publishes papers and is involved in talks and seminars relating to developments in Middle Eastern, English and Australian law.

As well as English, Andrew is fluent in spoken and written Arabic and has worked on arbitrations and conducted advocacy in that language. Andrew is also conversational in French.
