The Honourable Dr Annabelle Bennett AC SC is a retired Judge of the Federal Court of Australia (2003-2016). She currently acts as a Consultant Barrister (Senior Counsel) and Mediator/Arbitrator.

Dr Bennett’s present positions include Chair of the Reef 2050 Advisory Committee, Board member of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and Chair of Gardior Pty Ltd (trustee of The Infrastructure Fund). She is also a Member and past President of Chief Executive Women, Member of the Board of Directors of the Community Migrant Resource Centre, Member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Law at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Member of the WIPO Mediation and Arbitration List of Neutrals, and Member of the indicative List of Government and Non-Governmental Panellists for the WTO Disputes Settlement Process. Until early 2024, Dr Bennett was Chancellor of Bond University and Chair of the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) Board. Dr Bennett has also served as a Commissioner with the New South Wales Law Reform Commission and as a Royal Commissioner into National Natural Disaster Arrangements. She is a Fellow of both the Australian Academy of Science and Australian Academy of Law.

Dr Bennett is an Arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration for Sport. She has been a member of a Panel and Sole Arbitrator in a number of cases in the CAS. Dr Bennett has been a member of the CAS ad hoc Divisions at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi (2014) and Beijing (2022), the Summer Olympic Games in Rio (2016), Tokyo (2020) and Paris (2024), as well as the Commonwealth Games (2022). She has presided over the majority of the Panels on which she served and has also sat as a Sole Arbitrator, including in doping and selection disputes. In addition, Dr Bennett is Chair of the International Cricket Council Disputes Committee.
