Barry Lysaght is a sports lawyer and Managing Director of Lysaght Sports, a boutique sports law consultancy headquartered in Dubai, UAE.
With over 14 years’ experience at major governing bodies such as FIFA, the FIA, the Asian Football Confederation and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Barry has advised on a range of complex regulatory, governance and integrity matters at the highest levels of world sport.
Having served as General Counsel to the SAFF and Head of Sports Legal at the AFC, Barry brings specialist expertise into the sports regulatory ecosystems in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and Asian football more broadly.
A qualified solicitor in Ireland, England and Wales, Barry speaks five languages, with professional fluency in English and French. He is a regular speaker on international sports law, while his articles have been published in leading football law journals. He is a licensed FIFA Football Agent and sits on various independent judicial bodies of the International Paralympic Committee.
