Bernard HANOTIAU
Prof. Bernard Hanotiau is widely recognized as one of the most prominent international arbitration specialists worldwide. Prior to founding Hanotiau Tossens Goldman, he was a founder of Hanotiau & van den Berg in 2001. He is also the arbitrator of SHIAC.
Bernard acts mainly as arbitrator but also as counsel and expert and has experience under all major international arbitration rules. Since 1978, he has been involved in more than six hundred international arbitration cases (commercial and investment) as party-appointed arbitrator, chairman, sole arbitrator, counsel and expert in all parts of the world and in all sectors of the industry including construction, distribution, energy, technology and telecommunications, pharmaceutical and biotechnology, mining and finance.
Bernard is professor emeritus of the University of Louvain, Belgium. He is visiting professor at the NUS University of Singapore and honorary professor of the EPCL University in Shanghai. He is a member of the Court of Arbitration of SIAC (Singapore) and ISTAC (Istanbul). He is on the list of arbitrators of most international arbitration institutions.
