Chiann BAO

Chiann Bao is a Chartered Arbitrator and CEDR-Accredited Mediator based in Singapore.

Tri-qualified in New York, England and Wales and Hong Kong, she has been appointed in almost 100 ad hoc and institutional arbitrations involving the laws of various civil and common law jurisdictions and totalling USD multiple billions in dispute.

She is the Co-Chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee and has held other institution positions including as a vice president of the ICC Court of Arbitration and Secretary-General of the HKIAC.

Chiann has practiced in international law firms in New York and Hong Kong.

She is one of the most highly ranked arbitrators in league tables, including Who’s Who Legal Arbitration’s Global Elite Thought Leaders and Chambers and Partners’ Most In Demand arbitrators globally and regionally.

A regular speaker and lecturer, Chiann was awarded the Global Arbitration Review “best lecture” for her Proskauer Rose Lecture in 2022.
