Estelle Dehon KC is a leading public law barrister at Cornerstone Barristers in London, with a broad practice encompassing environment and planning, data protection, election law and human rights. She has particular expertise in environment and climate change, net zero, energy infrastructure and just transition. She is at the forefront of climate litigation in the UK: she acted for the successful appellant in the Supreme Court in Finch, the leading case on scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions and is acting in the ongoing legal challenge to the government’s aviation climate strategy. Last year she represented the main UK environmental regulator in an arbitration arising from the nationally important HS2 rail project. In 2023 Estelle founded the cross-disciplinary centre of excellence for climate litigation and advice, Cornerstone Climate. She won a Global Climate Leadership award at COP27 and is co-Chair of the Bar Council’s Climate Crisis Working Group. She has been included in the ENDS Report Power List of the most influential environmental professionals in the UK for three consecutive years and this year was named in The Lawyer's prestigious Hot 100 list, celebrating her exceptional contributions to public law and environmental litigation.
