Geneviève HELLERINGER

Prof. Geneviève Helleringer (JD Columbia, MSc Oxford, PhD Sorbonne) is a faculty member at Oxford University (fellow of Reuben College). She holds visiting positions at Columbia Law School and Paris-Assas University. With a French, Anglo-American and German background, Geneviève started her career at Shiseido in Tokyo and practised law as a member of the Bar in New York and in Paris at Willkie Farr & Gallagher and Freshfields. She regularly acts as an international expert, mediator and arbitrator.

Her research is interdisciplinary and, harnessing insights from economics and psychology, focuses on contracts and corporate governance i.e., how organizations structure their relationships and set their own rules. Her monograph on Contractual Terms was awarded four prizes.

Geneviève is an elected fellow of the American Law Institute, Vice-Chair of ECGI and a member of the Board of Appeal of the European Supervisory Financial Authorities. She is an academic editor of the Journal of Financial Regulation (Oxford University Press) and the Oxford Business Law Blog.

Genevieve is an enthusiastic gallery-goer, an amateur pianist and has published a number of short stories.
