James DINGLEY

Partner
Trinity International

James has over 18 years’ experience of resolving complex, high-value, and politically sensitive disputes. He specialises in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration proceedings (whether conducted pursuant to major international rules, or in ad hoc proceedings), with many of the disputes in which he has acted having arisen in the energy & natural resources and infrastructure sectors. His clients have included international energy companies, large corporates, financial institutions and private individuals, as well as States and State-owned entities. He therefore has a keen appreciation of both the differing investor and State perspectives of long-term contracts in the extractive and energy sectors, and how the challenges that such contacts typically face can best be managed effectively at the contract negotiation stage and if a dispute arises.
