Louis B. Buchman founded Lexforce in early 2019, to act as independent arbitrator and mediator, after more than a decade as a partner at Fieldfisher LLP.

A French national, Louis completed his hypokhâgne at Lycée Henri IV in Paris before pursuing studies in law, literature and political science. He holds a postgraduate degree (DEA) in European Law from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Admitted to the Paris Bar in 1974 (now honorary since 2023) and to the New York Bar in 1989, Louis specializes in international law, European Union law and arbitration law. He has been involved in more than forty-five international arbitrations, acting either as counsel or as arbitrator, and has participated in several international mediations.

He also has extensive litigation experience, primarily before the French courts, as well as before the General Court of the European Union.

He is a court-appointed mediator before the Paris Court of Appeal, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and is regularly appointed by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to decide domain name disputes.
