Matthew Fisher is General Counsel at La Mancha, a $3bn FCA authorised investment fund backed by Egypt’s Sawiris family and focused on long term equity investments in mining, especially gold. La Mancha is a major shareholder in companies such as Endeavour Mining, a leading West African gold producer, which places Matthew at the centre of the legal, commercial and geopolitical challenges of operating in emerging market jurisdictions.

Matthew works closely with portfolio company boards and management teams on the day to day legal and commercial realities of developing mining projects. Fluent in English, French and Russian, he brings a pragmatic perspective informed by his experience across Africa, Russia, Central Asia and Latin America.
