Professor of Law, University Paris Saclay, Independent Arbitrator, founder of FAR - Fontmichel Arbitration & Resolution
Maximin teaches and conducts research in international arbitration, contract law and civil procedure. He leads the Master in Arbitration and Business Law of the University of Paris Saclay (MACI).
In his private practice, Maximin serves as chairman, panel and sole arbitrator under the rules of the leading arbitral institutions and ad hoc arbitrations in a broad variety of domestic and commercial disputes. Having lived several years in Spain, Scotland and North America, Maximin is fluent in French, English and Spanish, and conducts arbitration proceedings in all three languages.
Maximin de Fontmichel acts also as a legal expert in domestic and international litigation.
He is the author of a monograph entitled « Weak parties and arbitration » (2013) and co-author of the “Code de l’arbitrage commenté” (2nd edition 2021). He is also the author of various contributions in books and articles in law journals, mainly focused on arbitration and contract law.
