Marie DANIS
Marie Danis joined August Debouzy in 2009 as a partner after beginning her career with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
She advises French and foreign clients in connection with international arbitration and business litigation cases.
She has received recognition in various French and international lawyer rankings and has developed specific expertise in arbitration related to post-acquisition disputes and in obtaining evidence.
She is involved in the organisation called Paris, Place d’Arbitrage and is responsible for promoting Paris internationally in relation with arbitration. She is a member of the board of directors of the Association Française d’Arbitrage and also teaches arbitration at the EFB and at university.

Anti-suit injunctions are orders issued to prevent a party from initiating or continuing proceedings in another jurisdiction or forum. They are often used as a tool to protect the parties' contractual rights, such as the arbitration agreement. However, anti-suit injunctions also raise complex legal and practical issues.\r\n
\r\n
In this event, arbitration practitioners who have recently been involved with anti-suit injunctions in arbitration cases (including in the Courts of their home jurisdiction) will explore the topic in light of the recent case law and the perspectives of other practitioners on this topic. We will also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of anti-suit injunctions, and whether they live up to the hype or not in international arbitration. \r\n
