Michael is a German lawyer admitted to the bar. He obtained a Ph.D. in European law from the university of Frankfurt/Main. Since 1996 he holds various roles in the legal function of the Grid Solutions businesses of GE Vernova and its predecessors (Alstom, Areva and AEG) including the role as global General Counsel in Alstom Grid Solutions. His current role is Head of Legal for Central and Northern Europe. In a further management role he chairs the board of the German legal entity of GE Vernova Grid Solutions. His particular operational focus together with his multinational team of lawyers is the legal and contractual handling of large projects for the transmission of high voltage direct current (HVDC) from offshore windfarms to the grid onshore both in the offer and in the execution phase.
