Sébastien JEAN
Associate Director of the Geoeconomics and Geofinance Initiative
Institut français des relations internationales (Ifri)
Sébastien Jean est professeur au Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, titulaire de la chaire Jean-Baptiste Say d’économie industrielle. Il est également membre du Conseil d’analyse économique (CAE) et du Conseil National de la Productivité (CNP), associé au GEP (Université de Nottingham, R-U) et fellow du CESifo Research Network (Munich, Allemagne).
Il a précédemment été directeur du CEPII, le principal centre français de recherche et d’expertise en économie internationale (www.cepii.fr), de décembre 2012 à décembre 2021, et directeur de recherche à l’Institut national de recherche pour l’agriculture, l’alimentation et l’environnement (INRAE, 2007-2022), après avoir occupé d’autres fonctions à l’OCDE et au CEPII. Ses travaux d’expertise et de recherche concernent l’économie internationale, en particulier dans sa dimension commerciale, et il a enseigné dans de nombreuses institutions. Il est ingénieur diplômé de l’Ecole Centrale de Paris et titulaire d’un doctorat d’économie de l’Université Paris-1.
