Severin KLINKMüLLER

Dr Severin Klinkmüller is a member of the ESA Legal Services Department. He advises the Connectivity and Secure Communications (CSC) directorate on all legal and institutional aspects of ESA’s satellite telecommunication programmes and activities. He also serves as the Legal Advisor to ESA’s Joint Board on Communication Satellite Programme (JCB). Severin regularly conducts negotiations for agreements with ESA’s European and international partners, and advises on European Union legal matters.

Before joining ESA, Severin was admitted to the bars of Berlin and Paris and practised as a lawyer in the Paris office of a global law firm, specialising in representing sovereign clients in international disputes. He has also worked at the legal services departments of the European Commission and the German Federal Foreign Office.

Severin holds a PhD in European Union law from the University of Münster, Germany, and a Master of Law (LL.M.) of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
