Clément FOUCHARD

Clément has over 18 years' experience in both international commercial and investment arbitration, as well as in post-arbitration litigation.

Clément has regularly acted for French and international clients in major arbitrations seated across the globe and has particular experience in complex disputes in the construction, energy and infrastructure, mining, defence and distribution sectors, as well as considerable experience in joint ventures and post-acquisition disputes.

Clément is recognized by the major independent legal directories including Chambers Global – France 2024 and Legal 500 EMEA 2022 - France. He is recommended by Who’s Who Legal as a “National Leader – France – Arbitration 2022” and as a “Global Leader – Arbitration 2022.”

In addition to his experience as counsel, Clément acts as an arbitrator in domestic and international arbitrations (ICC).

Clément is a co-founder of Paris Arbitration Week (PAW) and was a member of PAW Board and treasurer between 2019 and 2022. He is a member of the Arbitration Committee of the Centre de Médiation et d’Arbitrage de Paris (CMAP), a board member and treasurer of the Comité Français de l’Arbitrage (CFA), and a founding member of AfricArb (an association which promotes arbitration in Africa). He is the former co-chair of the CFA-40; the ICC YAF representative for France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

Clément lectures on international arbitration at Science Po Law School (LL.M. in Transnational Arbitration and Dispute Settlement), and at Paris II Panthéon-Assas University (LL.M. AWArDS ‒ Assas World Arbitration and Disputes Settlement).
