Ramilka TAVERAS

Lawyer specialized in international dispute resolution in France and Latin America. She has assisted her clients in disputes related to major commercial and investment projects in the Dominican Republic, Panama, Ecuador, Bolivia, and other countries in the region. Her practice encompasses international commercial and investment arbitration (ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, ad hoc), as well as cross-border litigation, including the enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards in Latin America and Europe. Ramilka has been recognized by Lexology – Who's Who Legal as a Future Leader, highlighting her practice in France and her work in Europe and Latin America.

She is included on the list of approved arbitrators of the Centro de Resolución Alternativa de Controversias de la Cámara de Comercio y Producción de Santo Domingo.

She is a member of the ICC Institute of World Business Law, the Cámara de Comercio Franco Dominicana (CCIFD), the Comité Français de l'Arbitrage (CFA), the Club Español del Arbitraje (CEA), the International Bar Association (IBA), and the Instituto Brasileiro de Direito da Construção (IBDiC).

She is the founder and coordinator of the Dominican–French Colloquium on International Arbitration, an international event held in the city of Santo Domingo with the participation of speakers of high academic and professional standing. To date, four editions of the event have been held (2014, 2015, 2018, 2022, and 2025).

Representative experience

- Representation of a Panamanian company in an ICC arbitration with the seat in Paris against a Latin American state and a state-owned entity in connection with a contract for the construction and operation of a power plant. Amount in dispute in excess of USD 80 million.

- Representation of a consortium of French and Panamanian companies in an ICC arbitration with the seat of arbitration in Madrid against the municipality of a Latin American State and a state-owned entity in connection with a large urban mobility infrastructure project.

- Representing a Latin American company in a Spanish-based commercial arbitration against Spanish, Luxembourg and French companies in connection with an investment project in the telecommunications sector in Brazil.

- Representing the investor in an ICSID arbitration against the Co-operative Republic of Guyana concerning the annulment of a car parking concession contract (Smart City Solutions Holdings Inc. v. Co-operative Republic of Guyana, ICSID Case No. ARB/21/64).
